Depending on your connection type your device may go offline. Follow this guide to identify and fix issues. To know the status of your connection go to Company > Manage Device and check the status of the connection.

Static IP

If you have a static IP. The only errors that may occur are due to a change in your static IP by your internet provider or any change in the port forwarding issue.

  1. Check to see if you have made any recent changes to your network configuration.
  2. Ping your device from your local network to check if your biometric time and attendance respond. Reboot your device if needed.
  3. Check your port forward and verify if your source and destinations are provided correctly. Use this website, find your router and follow instructions to know more about port forwarding. 
  4. Find out your public IP from this website.
  5. Use port forwarding checking tool to see if your port is open and available to ClockIt for use.

Dynamic IP

  1. Check to see if you have made any recent changes to your network configuration.
  2. Ping your device from your local network to check if your biometric time and attendance respond. Reboot your device if needed.
  3. Check your port forward and verify if your source and destinations are provided correctly. Use this website, find your router and follow instructions to know more about port forwarding. 
  4. Find out your public IP from this website.
  5. Use port forwarding checking tool to see if your port is open and available to ClockIt for use.
  6. Find out if your public IP from Step 4 matches with your DDNS domain provider. If there is a mismatch, your router is not pushing the renewed IP. Reboot your router and check if the IP is updated. Check if your router is running on the latest firmware. If the renewed IP is not being updated, you will need to troubleshoot your router or replace it entirely.
  7. A quick work around for this is to get your public IP from Step 4  and use this IP as your domain/IP in your connection parameters. Note that every time the IP changes this step has to be repeated.
